Avocado (Persea americana) is a fruit of the Lauraceae family, which has 3 varieties: antilhana (Persea americana var. Americana), Guatemalan (Persea americana var. Guatemalensis) and Mexican (Persea americana var. Drymifolia).

With the exception of bananas, avocados have four (4) times more nutritional value than any other fruit. It is the fruit that has the highest amount of protein and is rich in vitamins C and E, folic acid, and potassium. It also contains a good amount of iron, magnesium and vitamin B6, in addition to beta-systotinol (which can help lower blood cholesterol) and glutathione, an excellent antioxidant. It has a high fat rate, making it very rich in calories, which has led diet experts to abolish the consumption of this fruit. However, most of the fat in the avocado is monounsaturated, that is, healthy fat.
It is an excellent fruit in the fight against headaches, rheumatic pains, diarrhea, excess urea, liver failure, dry skin, dry hair, retention of bile secretion, worms and is a great diuretic.
